Warren Edward Buffett

Warren Edward Buffett is an American inverter, businessman, and philanthropist. He entered the world on August 30, 1930, in Omaha, Nebraska, U.S. He has been a most popular and successful investor in the 20th century and in the 21st century, too; he continuously sets examples to make money and run a business effectively.

Career

Warren Buffett has had an interest in business and investment since his childhood. He started investing when he was 11. After completing his education at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and graduating from the University of Nebraska, he went to Columbia Business School for his further studies, where he taught investment philosophy and the concepts of investment under the guidance of Benjamin Graham. He also went to the New York Institute of Finance to study economics. Thereafter he entered the field of business with various business partnerships.

He started Buffett Partnership, Ltd in 1956, and soon it turned into a textile manufacturing firm known as Berkshire Hathaway. He was the company's chairman and majority shareholder of Berkshire Hathaway (one of the largest holding companies in America). He was named "Oracle of Omaha" by global media due to his massive investment and success in the business. After getting an edge in business, he decided to donate 99% of the wealth with the help of the Bill& Melinda Gates Foundation.

Personal life

Warren Buffett was referred to as the Oracle of Omaha or Sage of Omaha. Warren's parents were Howard Homan Buffett and Leila Stahl Buffett. He was the only son in his family and was the middle child. He has two sisters named Doris Buffett and Roberta Buffett Elliott. He got married in 1952 to Susan Thompson Buffett. Warren and Susan have three children Susan Alice Buffett, Howard Graham Buffett, and Peter Andrew Buffett. In 1977, this couple decided to live separately without divorce. Susan died in 2004. After two years of Susan's death, Warren remarried Astrid Menks, who was his companion for a long time.
