AT&T Inc.

AT&T Inc. is an American multinational Conglomerate headquartered at WhitacreTower in Downtown Dallas, Texas. It is the largest telecommunications company globally and provider of mobile telephone services in the U.S. as of 2020, AT & T ranked ninth on the fortune 500 rankings of the largest US corporations, with revenues of $181 billion.

During the majority of the 20th century, AT&T had a monopoly on phone service in the United States. It began its history as the American District telegraph company in St. Louis, 1878. After expanding and serving to Arkansas, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas and several mergers, it became southwestern Bell Telephone services in the U.S. in 1899, AT&T became the parent company when the American Bell Telphone sold its assets to its subsidiary comapny.

ATT company was rebranded as AT & T Corp. In 2005; SBC purchased its parent AT&T Corp and took on its branding. The merged entity named itself AT &T Inc. using its history, a version of the iconic logo and stock-trading symbol launched on December 30, 2005. AT&T acquired BellSouth Corporation in 2006, the largest baby bell company making its formerly joint venture Cingular Wireless wholly owned and rebranded it as AT&T. AT&T further acquired Time Warner in 2016, with the proposed merger confirmed on June 12, 2018. The current AT &T reconstitutes much of Bell System and includes four of seven Baby Bells and the original AT&T corporation.
